/ / But I crumble completely when you cry / /

The street lights reflected on the water and the cold waves got between our naked toes.

We have been standing there for not so long. You could clearly tell that she was smoking red Marlboro, since the stubs at our feet had red lipstick stamps at the end of them. I prefer the blue Lucky Strike, it has an ironic name if you thing about it. Every day is a lucky strike for a smoker still alive.

The wind was playing with her long brown hair, making the ends dance like leaves in the air. I could also smell her cheap perfume which had a rich fragrance. Her eyes were swollen and her black mascara was no longer on her eyelashes, but under her eyes, flowing down her cheekbones like a river.

She was the most interesting person in my life. Actually, she was the only person in my life. No one else really mattered. A few things about her: she hates cold coffee, her neighbors and waking up early. She loves books, the rain, autumn and is obsessed with vintage things, hands and The Smiths. She’s pretty good at making new friends and is awful at math. She has two left feet and a very strong opinion about everything – even highlighters and coins. She had a new, pointless problem every week, but they somehow made sense.

’’ This week, I am struggling with self doubt and the transition from iced coffee to hot coffee ’’ – was one of my favorite sentences that left her soft lips. I had to bite my lips to keep a straight face, though I really wanted to bite hers.

One time we got really wasted and she said : ’’ No one has ever told me that I look desirable with the lights on. ’’ and my only reply was ’’ well you make my pulse accelerate. ’’ I felt like I was the smoothest man on the planet, but as I said before, we were wasted, so I really fucked it up by leaning into her face and asking her to break my nose cause’ it was scratchy.

We’ve been standing there for a while now. You could clearly tell because the stubs were piling up. She finally looked at me with her whole face and body. I loved how she never looked nice, but she looked like art. And art was not supposed to look nice, it was supposed to make you feel something. And she sure did. I felt it. From my ears through my veins in my knees even in the bottom of my feet.

’’ You know that I protect my pride ’’ – she mumbled under her blood red lips – ’’ but I am too bruised to fight. ’’

She was quoting from songs like the water was falling from the Niagara, constantly. And I had no problems with that. I did the same.

’’ Makes me wanna surrender and wrap you in my arm. ’’ – I turned to her. My white collar was peaking out of my coat, with a pink lipstick stain on them. Those weren’t hers. She never wore pink. We were gazing into each others eyes. I, mesmerised , but she just couldn’t recognize me.

’’ Somebodies goodnight kisses got it covered. ’’ – and she walked away, leaving me and her black shoes at the shore.

Submarine

” That rare teen comedy where the kids aren’t gorgeous, the hero isn’t heroic and the object of desire has a lot of reasons why she isn’t necessarily desirable. ” said Roger Moore on ‘Rotten Tomatoes’

In the prologue Oliver -the protagonist- says how has been searching for himself. ” I’ve tried flipping coins, listening exclusively to french crooners, I’ve even had a brief hat phase but nothing stuck. ” I think a lot of people can relate to this, despite their age, we’re always searching for ‘our voice’, who we are and what we want. Oliver goes through bullying, trying to fix his parents marriage and falls in love with Jordana, a pyromaniac girl.

The colors have a key role in the film. Every character has a signature color. Oliver – blue, Jordana – red, Jill Tate – yellow, Lloyd – brown and Graham – black.
As Oliver gets closer to Jordana, he sneaks more red into his palette.

” Well, you know, I thought it would be nice to get some mutual interests… now that we’ve had sex… other than spitting and setting things on fire. ” and Oliver gives Jordana 3 books, one of them is Catcher in the Rye.

The film contains great shots, pictures, colors and scenes.

Submarine = Oliver
He goes under pressure in his life

Alex Turner, the front man of The Arctic Monkeys recorded the soundtrack, it can be found on YouTube, I really recommend it ( as the movie too ).

A Valentine – by Edgar Allan Poe

For her this rhyme is penned, whose luminous eyes,
Brightly expressive as the twins of Leda,
Shall find her own sweet name, that nestling lies
Upon the page, enwrapped from every reader.
Search narrowly the lines!–they hold a treasure
Divine–a talisman–an amulet
That must be worn at heart. Search well the measure-
The words–the syllables! Do not forget
The trivialest point, or you may lose your labor
And yet there is in this no Gordian knot
Which one might not undo without a sabre,
If one could merely comprehend the plot.
Enwritten upon the leaf where now are peering
Eyes scintillating soul, there lie perdus
Three eloquent words oft uttered in the hearing
Of poets, by poets–as the name is a poet’s, too,
Its letters, although naturally lying
Like the knight Pinto–Mendez Ferdinando-
Still form a synonym for Truth–Cease trying!
You will not read the riddle, though you do the best you can do.

“Bobfest”, Bob Dylan – 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration Deluxe Edition

Madison Square Garden proves once again why it is the “World’s Most Famous Arena”. Twenty-two years ago on October 16, 1992, New York City’s hottest concert ticket was the assemblage of musical friends at Madison Square Garden to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Bob Dylan’s first Columbia Records album.

Columbia Records and Legacy Recording, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Bob Dylan – The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration – Deluxe Edition in three configurations (2CD2DVDBlu-ray Disc) on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

It is so heartwarming to see George Harrison performing in the spot with Dylan that gave us The Concert for Bangladesh. I also see that the late Richie Havens sings “Just Like A Woman”. There is a version of “It Ain’t Me Babe” by June Carter Cash/Johnny Cash. The Band appears and does “When I Paint My Masterpiece

An elusive soul

I turned off my alarm clock at 7:20 AM and made myself a cup of coffee. I’m not an early bird, I don’t really care about catching the worm. I just have so many things to do, including school work, language exams and things in my privet life., I had no choice but to ‘man up’ and get out of the comfort of my bed.

While I was sipping my coffee and putting away things in my room, I wanted to put on some background noise. When it comes down to this, I have 3 options : Music, Audio book or a documentary. This was the documentary I choose to listen to, but ended up watching it, bookmarking it, and blogging about it.

Haruki Murakami, a world-wide known Japanese author, and my personal favorite. I highly recommend this documentary about his life and work.

His books are like a vacuum. Once you sit down and open them up, you can’t stop. They make you rethink about a lot of things, not only about society, life in general or love, but about yourself too.

My first Murakami book was ” Hard boiled wonderland and the end of the world. ” Since then, I’ve read several other books by him, making lists and running to the ” Eastern literature ” section in the local library. Murakami books are like sweet snacks for me.
